Wright & Ditson Baseball Ad

Baseball history photo: This Wright & Ditson ad appeared in the Spalding Base Ball Guide in 1894. Wright & Ditson, a Boston based company co-founded by baseball legend Harry Wright, made the official ball for the only season of the Union Association in 1884. Spalding continued to add to his sporting goods empire by purchasing his rivals instead of competing against them and continued to manufacture products under the original companies name giving the public the false impression of competition.
